Welcome to the Photo Restoration Services Nottingham, Grantham section of Blue Soul Photography, if you have any old photos or damaged photographs that you would like to restore or repair then I can do this for you, our services include restoring old photographs digitally, retouching both old and new photos and applying special effects.

Photographs represent precious memories, family heirlooms, historical moments, a social record, old photos and family photos are all of these and more, however, time and conditions will have a damaging effect on these irreplaceable treasures, so it makes perfect sense to preserve your family's history so that your children and their children will have a photographic link to your family and its past.

Through the art of digital photo editing we can now restore and bring back old or damaged photos that may have been lost forever.

With Blue Soul Photography's Photo Restoration Service we will fix pictures that are old and faded, stained scratched and torn and bring them back to life, we can also correct colour and exposure, sharpen, and add special effects such as colorization, adding or removing people or other elements, change the background, and more.

If you know exactly what you want then by all means send your pictures with your instructions enclosed in a hard backed envelope. We will contact you if there is anything we need to discuss before starting work.

If you’re not sure how to tackle the picture or what the possibilities are then please call, e-mail or write and we will be pleased to discuss your requirements, without obligation.

We take every care with your photographs, handling them with the same respect and attention as we do our own. However we accept no responsibility for loss or damage howsoever caused while your pictures are in our possession, or in transit to you. Sending your pictures to us denotes your acceptance of these terms.

Completed orders are sent by traceable method, usually Special/Recorded Delivery or other method by arrangement.

Please allow 28 days for completion of orders although they will often be returned much sooner. If you have a deadline (birthdays etc.) please tell us in your instructions and we will do our best to meet it.

All work is guaranteed – if for any reason you are not satisfied with the result simply return the print within 10 days for a no quibble refund.

Please note: Not all originals fit neatly into modern sizes. We will fit your picture without cropping unless otherwise requested.
Pictures are printed on high quality photographic paper.

Pricing

Prices for photo restoration work are based on 4 categories depending on the amount of work required.

Category 1 - Slight marks or creases on plain background only. Remove marks and adjust colour, brightness, and contrast.

Category 2 - Slight marks, creases or lines on plain background or subject, but not on faces. Remove marks and creases etc, adjust colour, brightness, and contrast.

Category 3 - Marks, creases, or lines on background or subject, light marks on face of one person, slight fading of colours. Remove marks and creases etc, adjust colour, brightness, and contrast.

£15.00

Category 4 - Marks, creases, or lines on background or subject, marks on faces of up to three people, slight fading of colours. Remove marks and creases etc, adjust colour, brightness, and contrast.

Join together two separate images that are of a similar colour and contrast, and in good condition, change backgrounds, superimpose people or objects on to different backgrounds etc.

Please note: All the above prices do not include the cost of the final prints. The above categories are for guidance only. I am always willing to provide an estimate for any work that does not match any of the above descriptions, such as badly damaged pictures or complicated image manipulation.

Notes:
The pricing category can sometimes depend on the size of the print asked for, as a large print will magnify small marks more than a small print and will therefore require more time to do the restoration.

I will save all finished work in case any more prints are required in the future. These will be priced at my standard print costs, subject to the previous paragraph.

Any photos that have to be posted to me should be carefully packed to prevent damage in the post, but remember that there is always a slight chance of items being lost or damaged in the post.

The cost of return post will be added to the total cost.

I am often asked if I can do restoration work from scans that the customer has done and emailed to me. I have found that this is not always a good idea as most of the low priced scanners available today are not able to resolve detail in shadows and highlights, the scanning stage is important in a lot of photos such as very dark or faded prints.
